Summary

The end of the war in Sri Lanka continues with various issues, such as ethnic conflict and natural disasters. Attempts towards peace and prosperity have not been successful. The prevalence of the COVID19 epidemic, which is currently wreaking havoc on the world's population, has been reported in SriLanka and over 950 cases have been reported to date. As a result, poor families, widows, women and children are deprived of daily food, education and health care.

Challenge

Agriculture, fisheries, workers and various businesses have been affected as some areas are still frozen in the country. As well as unemployment, poverty is on the rise. The country's urban backward and remote villages are also affected. This program provides emergency food, epidemiological and health care products to address the immediate hunger of the affected families. And to provide capital assistance to rebuild the affected small business and livelihood.

Solution

Provide dry food packs and sanitary items for emergencies. Helping affected families start a self-employment venture with 1000 affected poor women. In addition, new industries such as agriculture, self-employment, small industries and group will be started. Provide raw materials, training, and technical assistance. This will provide the opportunity for these project families to meet the basic necessities of life, including daily nutritious food, education and health.

Long-Term Impact

We will use technology, resources and cooperation in the public and private sectors to help start these industries using market and local resources. These will be the traditional industries of daily selling, sustainable, permanent income, nutritious food production, health care products, and short-term farming. The program will fulfill basic rights and the UNO's Poverty Alleviation objective. Thus, 1000 sustainable enterprises will be started. About 5000 beneficiaries will benefit.
