COVID19 pandemic has created huge hardship for Persons with disabilities. As such they had a struggle with economic activities and it is now much bigger survival issue for them because of COVID19 related lockdown, slowdown and lack of economic activities to survive. VOSAP volunteers decided to step up their support to provide grocery for 1 month along with PPE kit - approx $7 cost in India. So far we have helped over 3,500 people but population is huge that awaits our help.
There are approx 70 MN people with disabilities in India. COVID19 pandemic has put majority of them under tremendous stress, for many, survival issue because of lack of economic activities, charities (even begging is restricted due to lockdown, social distancing etc.) that was available in good economic times. Their families are also burdened with many challenges at times so there is an unfortunate situation for many on survival. They have been ignored in society, much more now in COVID19.
This project will support Persons with Disabilities with much needed grocery, food and PPE to protect against COVID19 infections, increasing their survival chances during this pandemic.
1. Feeding, grocery kits will help survive, save some lives of this most ignored sect of society - disabled people, we call them Specially Abled People (SAP) 2. With PPE kit included in our kit (gloves, sanitizer, soap, masks) - will help protect against infection of COVID19 - again, saving potential loss of lives of Specially Abled People
