The new Omicron Variant Causing havoc in Kenya

By James Omolo | Project Leader

Since the beggining of this year of 2022 the new omicron variant has been cuasing havoc in all our counties herte in kenya, there has been a sharp increase in infections for the last one month and the government is very worried that if nothing is done urgently it might be overwhelmed with the current situation calling for variuos interventions put in place, everuyone has been put on alertt mode as the hospitals dwindle to manage the in patient from the infected parsons.

the government has been reorting over 1,000 cases daily with the most hit are Nairobi, mombasa and kisumu cities. These are the cities which have international airport for entry of vistors from outside Kenya.

The schools have just oppened and most students are now going back to school and this would really increase the infections since there would be rural urban and urban rural migrations taking place. We hope for the best and we wish to ask for more and more assistence to help us curb the stiation in our rural villages by implementing safety strategies here we shall be able t save alot of lives of these nvuklnarable children and women in our village in Paponditi Kenya.

the government has urged people to get vaccinated after it emerged that this new variant has low efffects on those whom have recieved their second doses of the vaccine.
