Violence should never be a life sentence. This project provides immediate safety and a path to recovery for women and girls escaping abuse. We will establish a confidential safe house and deliver holistic support to 30 GBV survivors each year, including counseling, legal aid, medical care, and skills training-helping survivors heal, rebuild, and reclaim their futures free from violence.
For many GBV survivors, escape is more dangerous than staying. Stigma, fear, and poverty trap women and girls with abusers, while justice systems feel overwhelming and unreachable. Without safe shelter and professional support, survivors face re-victimization, severe trauma, and economic dependence, perpetuating cycles of violence that threaten lives and futures.
Safety is the first step to healing. We will rent and secure a discreet property to operate as a temporary safe house. Survivors will receive trauma-informed counseling, medical care, daily meals, and legal assistance through pro-bono partners. Vocational and life-skills training will prepare residents for safe reintegration and financial independence.
When survivors are supported, communities change. Each year, over 30 women and girls will regain safety, dignity, and agency, reducing their risk of future abuse. Legal case support strengthens accountability and deters perpetrators. Over time, the project builds a sustainable community resource that saves lives and promotes zero tolerance for GBV.
