This project will help to build 10 cybercafe for 400 people with disabilities living in rural areas with limited access to internet and enhance their skills in computer literacy, internet use and digital rights.
In Cote d'Ivoire, few people have access to the internet in real time because of the high cost of the subscription and the purchase of internet data. This situation is more complicated for people with disabilities. Indeed, there are 5 million of disabled people according to the World Bank. Only 10% of them living in urban areas have internet in real time. The project will make computer and internet affordable and accessible to at least 400 persons with disabilities living in remote areas.
10 cybercafe are installed on behalf of persons with disabilities in 10 localities outside the capital in order to make internet affordable and accessible to them. Persons with disabilities are trained on computer literacy, internet use, and digital rights. Trainees are sensitized to share the lessons learned in their community of origin
The project will make computer and internet accessible to at least 400 persons with disabilities and enable them to participate more fully in all aspects of life.
