This project will create a safe haven for our community in Trenton, NJ. Our organization provides underserved low income and below poverty level children and families with academic resources, mentorship, and volunteer opportunities.
According to the US Census, the average household in Trenton, NJ makes $35,524. This means that Trenton families take home over $25,000 less than the average US family. They also report that, in our city, at least 27.3% of the citizens are living in poverty. This project will help give families and youth in our community a safe haven where they have access to free academic and professional resources.
Men for H.O.P.E provides underserved families with essential items, donations, as well as, professional and academic resources. During our programs, we also provide free meals and transportation for our participants. We also give them free academic trips out-of-state, fitness activities and internet access.
This project will help to educate at least thirty children and provide them tools for post secondary education. Many of our previous graduates enroll in universities or trade programs that they enjoy. We also provide parents with resources to help families rise out of poverty.
