Keeping the torch of camp through an online platform

During that period, we introduced an online platform where campers had the opportunity to share their experiences and memories about camp. They also invented new songs and plays that were shared through our platform. During the period, there were no physical activities due to the COVID 19. Still, campers stayed in touch with each other on the platform.

We also launched a radio program called "digital inclusion," where camp education was aired for campers. During these radio education programs, we stressed most on the importance of camp and how to get young people and kids engage to take camping seriously. Parents also had the opportunity to call in and express their commitment to camping as one of the fastest and easiest ways of transforming young people. They said kids are quick to learn from each other, and they become physically and mentally fit when they engage with each other and nature in an open space.

It is anticipated that enough resources will be mobilized to host over 500 young campers at the upcoming camp in December and January. It is even more critical at a time when every effort to eradicate or minimize the COVID 19 can work. The momentum is building, and campers are becoming excited about the coming camp. Many kids and young adults have expressed deep excitement that they cannot wait to get out. They want to re-engage nature, interact with friends, and play again after nearly nine months of staying home. We want to thank our partners and donors for supporting our camping programs.
