It is now 5 months after the devastating earthquakes hit Nepal and the occasional aftershocks are still happening. Our teams in Nepal are still working hard to reach as many families as possible, often in remote villages, and to support them and their communities rebuild and ensure they get the essential supplies they need.
Meanwhile, all of our flourishing cricketers in the making in our children's home in Birgunj fortunately benefit from the homely, loving atmosphere the Our Sansar family provide. All of the boys are very busy - with school (and recently recieved excellent results in their exams) and lots of fun activities in the home, obviously with cricket still being the favourite!
There is always something for everyone - dancing, singing, arts classes and sports and on the 15 September, all staff and children celebrated the National Children's Day which was full of games, presents and fun.
The recent political situation in Nepal has presented some difficulties; protests against the consitution and Indian borders being blocked has led to prices rising and supplies are not easily available. I want to give a special mention to our hard working teams in Nepal - thanks to them, and the support of the local community, we are still active and still getting supplies to our home, our transit home to support those affected by the earthquake, and remote families in need.
This is our last update for now from the Our Sansar cricket team as we are closing the Global Giving project - the boys are still busy practicing, but for now, we ask you to support our other projects and thank you as always for your ongoing commitment to our work - without you, none of this would be possible.
