Thank you—we can’t say it enough! Because of your generosity, communities in Madagascar struggling after Cyclone Batsirai were able to receive critical support.
Your donation to the Cyclone Batsirai Relief Fund powered one grant to Ny Tanintsika. Immediately following the storm, the organization was in contact with GlobalGiving’s Disaster Response Team to let us know that the cyclone had a direct impact on its communities in Ankarimbelo and Ambinanitromby in the southeastern part of the country. The storm ravaged many areas and caused devastation to schools, health centers, and agricultural lands.
Thanks to your donation the organization was able to provide more than 1,000 emergency aid kits (containing food, clothing, and seeds) to families in its communities and repair the roof of one of the schools in its community. The organization also provided 80 wheelbarrows and shovels to community members to repair rural roads and rice fields that were damaged by the cyclone.
This fund is no longer accepting donations, and this will be the last fund report of this kind from our team. Thank you again for advancing community-led disaster recovery.
