Thousands of Muslim street children in urban Nigeria go hungry each day, relying on scraps or going without food. Malnutrition weakens their health, leaving them vulnerable to disease and exploitation. This project will provide daily bread and clean water to 3,000 children, reducing hunger and giving them strength to attend informal learning and religious classes. Urgent support will keep them fed and safe.
Many Muslim street children in Nigerian cities live without regular access to food or safe water. They sleep in unsafe spaces, beg for survival, and face malnutrition, which impacts their growth and health. Without daily nourishment, their ability to learn and develop is severely limited. Hunger keeps them trapped in extreme poverty and at constant risk of illness and exploitation.
The project will distribute fresh bread and clean water daily to 3,000 Muslim street children. Reliable access to food will reduce hunger-related illness and give them strength to take part in informal education and religious learning. Food distribution will be managed in safe locations where children can eat without fear and access other support services.
Consistent access to food will improve the health and stability of these children, making it easier for them to attend informal classes and learn basic skills. With better nutrition, they are less likely to fall ill and more likely to focus on building a better future. Safe food points can also serve as contact hubs for connecting children to shelter, healthcare, and education.
