Pathways recently supported Katalina and her son, Jacoby, as they returned to the United States after leaving an abusive situation in Bulgaria. Relocating across borders while navigating the effects of domestic violence can bring significant emotional and financial challenges.
Returning home is an important step toward safety, but the transition also requires resources, stability, and time to establish a new foundation. Katalina secured a repatriation loan through the American Embassy to make their return possible. To help ease the financial pressure during this transition, Pathways will cover the first few loan payments on her behalf while she works toward reestablishing herself and her son in the United States.
This assistance is intended to reduce immediate financial stress and give Katalina greater space to focus on her and Jacoby’s well-being, access available resources, and build stability at their own pace. Every survivor’s path forward is unique, and meaningful support means recognizing both the courage it takes to seek safety and the practical barriers that can make starting over difficult.
By providing tangible assistance with the donations we receive from supporters like you, Pathways is helping Katalina and Jacoby move forward with greater security, dignity, and the opportunity to shape a future on their own terms.
We are so grateful for your support!
