Getting out of Egypt is difficult these days if you are not being abused. When Marie called and said she had a window of opportunity to get out of her home, we faced multiple challenges just getting her and her child to the airport safely. After three months of safety planning, advocacy and case management, Marie and her child are home safe in the USA.
Political unrest is an added layer of difficulty we encounter when we are helping abused American mothers flee back home to the USA with their children to seek safety. A danger to safety relocation can take months, and involve six or seven different agencies and 'eyes on the ground.' A relocation such as Marie's means case managers have to be available around the clock for the 24 to 48 hours coordinating every aspect of travel, ground transportation and hotel or shelter stays along the way until the final destination is reached.
Without support of donors like you rescuing American mothers and children would not be possible.
Thank you for your belief in our mission! Warmest wishes, Paula
