When Kara first called our international hotline in January, she was crying so much, Ava, one of our case managers, couldn't even understand her. Ava spoke to Kara almost every day since. It took time for Kara to open up and trust Ava after all of the abuse, but, earlier this week Kara arrived safely to the USA with her daugner Olivia.
Ava helped Kara safety plan and understand all of her options. It took months of preparation, and because of you, we were able to get Kara and Olivia out of the foreign country and back safe at home. Olivia is only two years old so she doesn't understand what mother's day is, but here is a note from Kara.
"I am so happy to be back home with my parents. We will celebrate Mother's Day on Sunday with my mom! Ava saved my life. I feel so blessed to have found you."
Thank you for helping Kara and Olivia! Your donation is helping save lives.
If you are considering another donation this Mother's Day, we have a new project on Global Giving. Battered Mother and Children Rescue, specifically to help American mother's and children get home this summer and also provide them with emergency assistance and basic needs.
