Summary

Big international agencies regularly ignore indigenous ways & knowledge and impose western ideologies onto their beneficiaries. To help break free of this dynamic, DARE has started up a Social Enterprise project called MoringAid. DARE Network can create a sustainable source of funds by growing, processing and marketing Moringa Leaf Powder, a Traditional SuperFood, helping refugees to help themselves. What is Moringa? Our goal is to reach a profit making state within 4 years. Read on.

Challenge

In 2021 the People of Myanmar rose up against the Military Junta's Coup that in an instant oppressed the people's burgeoning democracy. People took to the streets in peaceful protest. The Junta responded with swift and brutal violence. Instead of cowering, especially the young generation, joined together with professionals and ethnic groups throughout Myanmar to resist. They fight the Junta to this day. The Junta continues with genocide and war crimes against their own people. The result: TRAUMA

Solution

DARE Network is dedicated to helping prevent and treat addiction among its own people. DARE has operated in the refugee camps on both sides of the Thai/ Myanmar border for 22 years; dependent on donors for food for their treatment centres. MoringAid project will help our program to sustain itself for the future. DARE Network must increase its capacity to meet the demands that the trauma from the war in Myanmar will make on the addiction problems for the people of the country. We must be ready.

Long-Term Impact

Are you aware of the amazing Moringa Tree and the many benefits of its leaves, roots and pods? It is used by local people to enhance their diet providing high levels of protein, iron, calcium and B &C Vitamins. It can make the difference between malnutrition and good health. People in developed countries have started to use Moringa to maximize well-being. By providing this product to local and international people, DARE can sustain its work with traumatized and addicted people on the border.
