As 2017 comes to an end, we are so happy to tell you that our Agrow Therapy program that you supported has been a great success.
Not only have we produced a huge amount of fresh organic vegetables and herbs, eggs, chickens and pigs to support feeding our DARE Network workers and clients, we have given our recovering alcoholics and drug addicts a chance to reconnect with the earth, plant their sorrows and reap the rewards of their efforts. So helpful to build their hope and self-esteem.
As we prepare our budgets for 2018, we have been able to reduce our food costs because of these organic gardens. In the coming year, we will plant more fruit trees including mango, banana, papaya, lime, rose apple, and many more. As well, we will endeavour to dig and stock a fish pond, so that our people can have fresh fish to eat. They are experts in keeping fish healthy and natural. The labour is all provided by our staff and clients as they work together for common benefit.
We will also look more at diversifying the gardens and supporting the soil next year to make certain our efforts are sustainable.
Thanks so much to all of you who have supported and continue to support this initiative.
