Dare to Dream Project is to create a comprehensive program that empowers young girls who are survivors of human trafficking, fosters resilience, and facilitates their reintegration into society as independent, confident, and self-sufficient individuals. Beneficiaries - 10 (young girls survivors of Human Trafficking. BHA have registered a number of 210 young girls who have failed victims of human trafficking in person. These survivors often endure severe physical and psychological trauma.
Human traffickers in The Gambia exploit both domestic and foreign individuals, subjecting them to sex trafficking and forced labor, with certain sectors like tourism and Quranic schools being particularly vulnerable. Additionally, Gambian victims are exploited abroad, often in neighboring West African nations, and external victims, notably from Nigeria and even as far as Cuba, face potential exploitation within The Gambia. Beneficiaries are 10 young girls.
Life Skills Workshop: The entry point of this project is to hold a two days workshops for 10 (young girls). Vocational Training and Employment Support: As a follow up life skills workshop, we will collaborate with local vocational training centers to offer skill-based six months training programs Microfinance and Entrepreneurship Programs: After the 10 beneficiaries have completed their various trainings, through this project BHA will create a microfinance program that offers revolving l
Impact of this project is the 10 beneficiaries who are trained in different skills. They will support in training others in the years to come. The revolving loan that will be given to them for a start-up of their own income generating activities will be made available to other survivors who have been identified and have been trained by this present beneficiaries and who need support and assistance.
