In villages that have been adopted by Kids for Kids, training of at least two midwives means a chance to live...a chance for children and their mothers.
Just to give you a quick update, the midwives you have helped train safely delivered 65 beautiful babies in November. So many mothers and babies used to die...but not now with your help. And with five new villages adopted for the year ahead, we are hoping to start training new midwives from those new villages. Beyond training, they will need donkeys to enable them to safely and quickly get to mothers in need. They will need a lantern and a 'delivery kit.' The training will deliver health to mothers and their babies, general health improvement to the villages--and empower these trained young women with careers.
The new year begins and we begin again to hope that no frightened young mother has to face the fear of delivering her baby alone...potentially with life threating complications that a Kids for Kids trained midwife could handle.
If you would like to help change the world, save a life, become a superhero--we can help you do that one mother and child, one family, one village at a time, with just the click of a button on Global Giving.
Will you consider helping us train new midwives? Could you possible tell a few friends? Kids for Kids does not spend on advertising. Every donation makes the world of difference to the forgotten, hungry children and families of Darfur. Your donation to our Midwife Training Project specifically gives a real chance for change.
This month, along with all of us at Kids for Kids, 65 little babies, and their mothers, say thank you.
