The program as its primary function provides financial assistance free of cost, to children diagnosed with cancer. Hospital fees, medical consultation, medication, testing, surgery, procedures, medical equipment, transportation, home health services and medical professional fees are covered.
Diagnosing a disease as severe as cancer is a very hard test for the affected person and their family environment. The costs surrounding the process can be a source of distress for parents, caregivers and sometimes for the same patients. Cancer treatments are very intrusive, long, aggressive, expensive, and require ongoing hospital visits and numerous home care, which can make it difficult for families to have access to what they need.
The program as its primary function provides financial and social assistance to low income children to ensure access to cancer treatment and related expenses. All help provided is free of cost and ensures uninterrupted care for lack of economic resources, thus increasing the life expectancy of children.
The project will help over 450 children, whether patients or survivors can have the same resources as their peers. It is essential for the treatment of children suffering from cancer, it seeks to help in the recovery, prevention and make more bearable the consequences that result from diseases and treatments.
