During Covid-19 lock-down there was a heightened in the risk of experiencing Domestic violence and abuse in families who are not connected tightly. BWOCD aims to build a healthy family relationship for 600 IDP individuals throughout "Whole Family approach " sessions. This project will create family cohesion and trusting relationship between family members. Participators will be engaged in sessions and activities in order to have awareness on different topics and to be supported psychologically.
People who are living in IDP camps are suffering from different forms of daily life issues. During Covid-19 lockdown, all family members were confined at homes experiencing intense stress and anxiety. By this, some families were facing Domestic Violence and Abuse.
BWOCD provides family sessions to parents to raise their awareness about different important topics including parenting, Gender equality, child rights and Domestic violence. in addition to engaging family members in practical activities together to strengthen family bonds such as cooking, garden care, and drawing. Those family members will be provided with some PSS kits to use in the activities, such as drawing and gardening kits.
This project will create a strong bond for 100 families. Healthy families produce people who make positive contributions to the community. Individuals of a strong family are more likely to cope with stress, have healthier behaviors, and have self-esteem. consequently, domestic violence and abuse will be diminished in the community up to a high level.
