We launched this campaign three months ago to help raise funds to provide legal representation to children 14 years or younger facing criminal charges in Somaliland. We set a goal of raising $10,000 to defend 20 children. While we haven't hit our fundraising target yet, we've exceeded the number of children who need our help.
Since launching this campaign, we've started to represent 23 children aged 14 or younger. These children face charges from simple theft to more serious offenses, but what they all have in common is that they are too young under Somaliland law for criminal punishment. Because of your support, our lawyers are defending these 23 children.
