Sudan's health system is collapsing under the weight of conflict, displacement, and disease outbreaks. Hospitals across the country are running out of essential medicines and lifesaving medical supplies. This project will provide critical medical consumables and infection prevention materials to health facilities in underserved and crisis-affected areas of Sudan, helping doctors save lives and restore essential healthcare services.
Years of conflict, displacement, and repeated disease outbreaks have pushed Sudan's fragile health system to the breaking point, with 70-80% of hospitals in conflict-affected areas non-functional or barely operational. Hospitals are overwhelmed, running out of life-saving medicines and essential supplies. With disrupted supply chains, doctors face impossible choices-rationing care while treatable illnesses turn deadly. Without urgent support, thousands of women, children, and vulnerable patients
By listening to the urgent cries of hospitals and medical centers, SAMA will ensure the seventh container delivers exactly what is needed to save lives. Coordinating with the Federal Ministry of Health and other partners, we will avoid duplication and reach those who need help most. These supplies will empower doctors on the frontlines, bringing hope, healing, and life-saving care to women, children, and vulnerable communities caught in conflict.
Building on six previous shipments that reached 40+ hospitals and 200,000 patients, this seventh container is expected to support 50,000+ additional patients, restoring critical services and lifesaving care. By ensuring access to essential medicines, it helps doctors reduce preventable deaths, improve care for women and vulnerable populations, and strengthen hospital capacity-contributing to a more resilient health system in Sudan despite ongoing conflict.
