Joy, Hope, Resilience, and New Beginnings

Born on Christmas Day: New Life, a Gift of Hope
Born on Christmas Day: New Life, a Gift of Hope

Dear Friends and Supporters,

As Christmas approaches, we reflect on a season that celebrates new life, light, and hope — even in the midst of uncertainty. Across Haiti, families continue to face immense challenges, yet inside MamaBaby Birth Centers, we witness miracles every day: healthy births, empowered mothers, and communities choosing life.

Thanks to your continued generosity, MamaBaby International remains a place of refuge, dignity, and skilled maternal care.

New Life in a Season of Reflection

Christmas reminds us that every child is a promise. In November alone, 181 babies were safely born at MamaBaby Birth Centers — each one a symbol of resilience and possibility during a time when access to care is increasingly fragile.

Your support ensures that women do not give birth alone or without skilled assistance — even as travel, insecurity, and economic hardship make healthcare access uncertain.

  • November 2025 Impact Snapshot

- Cap-Haïtien Birth Center — November 2025

Despite regional instability, the Cap-Haïtien team provided consistent, high-quality care:

  • Prenatal First Visits: 170
  • Return Prenatal Appointments: 540
  • Births Attended: 111
  • Postpartum Visits: 96
  • Emergency Transfers: 16

Each number represents a mother supported, a complication prevented, or a life safeguarded through timely referral and skilled midwifery care.

- Lascahobas Birth Center — November 2025

In a rural area where access to maternal health services is extremely limited, Lascahobas continues to be a lifeline:

  • First Prenatal Visits: 142
  • Subsequent Appointments: 634
  • Births Attended: 70
  • Postpartum Visits: 106
  • Transfers: 3

Zero reported deaths this month:

  • Fetal Deaths: 0
  • Neonatal Deaths: 0
  • Maternal Deaths: 0

These outcomes reflect the power of early prenatal care, skilled birth attendance, and respectful maternity care — even in under-resourced settings.

Care That Protects Life and Dignity

Behind these statistics are midwives who work tirelessly — often under challenging conditions — to ensure mothers are treated with dignity, compassion, and clinical excellence. From first prenatal visits to postpartum follow-up, MamaBaby remains committed to continuity of care, not just emergency response.

Emergency transfers, though few, demonstrate strong clinical judgment and life-saving referral systems when higher-level care is needed.

Hope Is Born Every Day

This season, we celebrate more than holidays — we celebrate safe births, healthy mothers, and new beginnings.

Your support through GlobalGiving makes it possible for MamaBaby to continue serving families when the future feels uncertain. Together, we are building something enduring: community-led maternal care that saves lives today and strengthens Haiti’s health system for tomorrow.

From our MamaBaby family to yours,

Happy Holidays and thank you for being part of these life-saving new beginnings.
