Challenge

Governments, civil society organizations, donor agencies and individual philanthropists give assistance to well known groups with well known life challenges. It is further uncommon for communities to understand what actually single mothers go through to sustain their families until sensitized about the same. In Uganda, communities and government miss out on information and knowledge about the plight of single mothers, causing difficulty to make initiatives for any intervention.

Solution

Top Mothers Initiative seeks support to develop and publicize a visual - audio documentary that will be used to create awareness about the plight of single mothers and act as a catalyst for communities and government actions in support for its programmes. TOMI develops and carries out activities intended to better the welfare of homes of single mothers.

Long-Term Impact

The documentary will be used to raise awareness on the plight of single mothers in communities. It will put in light the actual difficulties single mothers face in their daily life to sustain their families. It will also serve as a motivation drive to all stake holders and well wishers to give support to the organization programs that are designed to improve the welfare of single mothers in communities.
