Zimconserve intends to set up a Permaculture centre for Subsistence farmers . Zimconserve shall erect the fencing right round its plot and install a borehole. Projects, such as poultry farming, mushroom farming, aquaculture and nutrition gardens are to be established. The objectives of this project are to empower the locals through these income-generating projects, for food, nutrition, revenue, and as well as to bring awareness to environmental conservation issues within the community.
Holistic research and feasibility studies we have carried out as an organization have indicated have indicated that below par (low)levels of education within Seke community have precipitated a variety of challenges chief among them reckless land use mechanisms, rapid deforestation, acute cases of malnutrition and abject poverty. These socio-economic ills compounded by a complex political landscape has thus galvanized Zimconserve to partake in these mitigatory efforts.
This project is crucial and vital in that, following its set up, the locals shall benefit indirectly from the Permaculture knowledge to be imparted from the centre as a way to empower them socially and economically, Zimconserve members and Bangira villagers on the other hand, are set to benefit directly from the commercial activities to be offered by the centre by way of consuming and selling of the products from the farming activities, in that way affording them healthy lifestyles.
With this project up and running societal needs are bound to be met. Chief among those are of the United Nations sustainable Developmental goals, that include No poverty, quality education, and climate action.Initially, about 700 targeted households in Seke rural are set to benefit from this centre, the permaculture know how is bound to spread across communities as the beneficiaries continue to impart the knowledge to others through this way our efforts will replicate, with remarkable success.
