We are pleased to share with you last month´s activities.
Did you know?
In 2006, nobody living in the Triángulo de la Solidaridad community studied at the university level. Today, thanks to the University Scholarship program and the support of Western Union, 18 university scolarships have been awarded, and most of these students are currently enrolled in university programs.
Since 2009 up to date, BWAB has delivered around 600 school supply packages to children in at risk communities, allowing them to start the school year with their basic school supply needs met.
If you wish to know more about BWAB news, we invite you to read the rest of this bulletin.
BID’s innovation award:
It is a great honor for BWAB to announce that our executive director has been chosen by the Interamerican Development Bank (BID) as a social innovator in Latin America and the Caribbean. BID’s program will take place at BID headquarters in Washington DC from October 20th through the 27th, 2013, and it will bring together 25 young social innovators chosen from 400 candidates by a panel of experts from BID and other partner institutions. They will meet with experts to be trained in social innovation, project design and implementation, alliance establishment and fundraising, strategic communication and more.
BID is an international bank that supports several initiatives to reduce poverty and inequality. It is one of the largest sources of financing in Latin America and the Caribbean. This institution has given its support to several countries throughout the years, and it is an honor to participate in the social innovation program.
We recognize this achievement as an achievement of each one of the volunteers, donors like you, and the organization’s staff. We wish to thank every person, company and entity that has contributed to build the BWAB project. It is because of you that we keep on establishing ourselves as a better organization every day.
