The Diabetes Care & Medication Support Program helps low-income patients in Ghana manage diabetes by providing essential medications, supplies, and care support. Donations reduce complications, improve health outcomes, and help patients live healthier, more stable lives.
Diabetes is a growing public health challenge in Ghana, affecting adults across all income levels but hitting low-income households the hardest. Many patients cannot afford regular medications, glucose monitoring supplies, laboratory tests, or clinic visits. As a result, poorly managed diabetes leads to severe complications such as stroke, kidney failure, vision loss, and premature death.
This program provides financial and material support to people living with diabetes to help cover essential medications, insulin, glucose monitoring supplies, routine tests, and clinic visits. It also promotes basic diabetes education to support proper disease management and prevent complications.
Consistent diabetes care reduces long-term complications and healthcare costs while allowing patients to remain productive and independent. By supporting effective disease management, this project strengthens community health and reduces the burden of chronic illness on families and the healthcare system.
