Now more than any other time it is needed to CONNECT Afghan women entrepreneurs with the buyers worldwide. CONNECTING Afghan women to sell online specially outside Afghanistan is teaching them how to fish. Yes, Afghans and the world are concerned about the current economic crisis and everyone is talking about giving Afghans fish which is only short-term. WE ARE THINKING LONG-TERM! How about you? Will you support our long-term plan to create an online sales platform for Afghan women?
Based on AWCCI's statistical report, there are 2471 formal and 54539 informal women owned business active in various sectors in Afghanistan. Majority in manufacturing, Afghan women businesses produce high quality products such as clothes, jewelry, handicraft, carpets, process, package dry fruits for export, nuts and spices including Saffron, Licorice and Cumin. But their products. They are not able to sell these great products to its right buyers.
AWCCI intends to create an online sales platform to connect women businesses to sell and promote their work digitally even from homes as now they are facing the Taliban restrictions. Also, AWCCI will train women business owners and young tech-sassy females as 'Digital Gurus' to help women run these digital shops. This will help women businesses maintain jobs not only for themselves but for their employees and the women artisans around the country and all together earn a respectful livelihood.
The sales platform is a long-term tool to continue supporting not only the first 100 women during this project but many more. Training women and tech-sassy female Digital Gurus will be another long-term out put of this project that will have a long-term impact to train and provide support to more and more women business owners in the country.
