Happy New Year from all of us at Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation. We want to, in a special way thank you immensely for your kindness and generosity to our project. Thanks for your support which has helped us impact many lives in our community. We do not take your donations for granted at all, it is gratefully appreciated.
We are happy to have the opportunity from GlobalGiving to enable our cherished donors to support our cause in "Digital literacy: 5K Youths in Connected economy (54330).
One crucial benefit that comes with championing digital literacy is that youths can be prepared for life beyond higher education, and equipped with the technological skills that may serve them well in their careers.
However, during the cause of our workshop and seminars and our interactions, we discovered that the majority of our youths face challenges and barriers in getting help. All these challenges are narrowed towards; family constraints and imperatives, individuals' own disposition, in line with past learning experiences,
Pessimistic outlook and low self-esteem.
lack of confidence in their ability to learn,
lack of money (a precarious situation, barely enough money for basic needs)
During the course of our workshop and seminars with the youths, we have discovered that many factors increase the risk of developing or triggering youth depression, including: Having issues that negatively impact self-esteem, such as obesity, peer problems, long-term bullying or academic problems. Having been the victim or witness of violence, such as physical or sexual abuse.
As earlier mentioned in our last report, the major problems we face in our project management is occasioned by poor funding, inadequate equipment to execute the projects, absence of technical expertise, economic and political instability and environmental. All these contribute to delaying our performance in our humanitarian services.
This is a good opportunity to invest in the lives of our youths by offering them counselling opportunities and giving them a vocational skill. Your donation is a trickle down effect to better the lives of youths.
Contributions like yours are continuing to make a difference. They are supporting Sam Onyemaechi humanitarian Foundation's response efforts and delivering crucial help and hope to people in need amid hostilities, constant stress, and difficult conditions away from home.
We initiated a body term ("Gesah") Great Entrepreneurial Skills Actualization Hub and ("Rucomdevin scheme") Rural community development initiative scheme"to fight for the rights of youths and indigent families in all spheres of life . Seminars and workshops are organized twice in every month to speak on these projects: "Talent Discovery" and youth and the era of digitalization. We constituted ten personnel who organized workshops and seminars to look into the aforementioned project topics that concern youth empowerment and development.
