Project Report: Revolutionizing Youth Employment in Nigeria Now (54330)
Quarterly Report – Q3 2025
Prepared by: Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation (SOHF)
Executive Summary
Youth unemployment continues to be one of the most critical socio-economic challenges in Nigeria, with millions of young people grappling with underemployment, skill gaps, and a shrinking job market. In response, the Revolutionizing Youth Employment in Nigeria Now project remains a bold intervention by Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation (SOHF) to equip young Nigerians with relevant skills, digital tools, and entrepreneurial mindsets for long-term employment and economic independence.
Despite ongoing funding constraints, the project has gained new momentum through strategic innovations and partnerships — most notably our collaboration with Isidore CompetitivAI Avatar, a breakthrough in AI-powered learning and workforce readiness in Africa.
Key Achievements This Quarter
1. Strategic Partnership with Isidore CompetitivAI Avatar
In July 2025, SOHF entered a high-impact partnership with Isidore CompetitivAI, an AI-driven platform providing personalized career support, business modeling, and soft skills training.
Integration into SOHF Programs: The AI Avatar now serves as a digital mentor and learning companion across SOHF’s training hubs.
Target Audience: Over 250 youth beneficiaries are currently using the tool to explore career paths, develop CVs, refine business models, and practice soft skills like pitching and negotiation.
Expected Impact: Drastically enhanced access to real-time guidance, scalable training, and increased confidence in self-employment and job interviews.
This innovation bridges the digital gap and enables youth in underserved communities to access quality, data-driven career coaching — a milestone in our mission.
2. Continued Delivery of EBU Certificate Program
Our ongoing partnership with the European Business University of Luxembourg (EBU) has expanded:
Total Enrolled Students (to date): 115 youths
New Courses Introduced: Supply Chain Management, Digital Transformation, and Leadership in Development
Outcome: At least 60% of enrolled students have completed their programs and are actively applying acquired knowledge to local projects or starting businesses.
SOHF continues to subsidize the €35 commitment fee, ensuring equal access regardless of background.
3. Skill Development & Training Workshops
Over the quarter, we hosted 3 skill-building workshops and community bootcamps across Anambra and Delta States, reaching over 300 young people. Topics included:
Agro-processing & Packaging for MSMEs
Food Innovation (Ube, Mango, Maize integration)
Financial Literacy & Grant Readiness
We introduced digital entrepreneurship modules in partnership with volunteers from the diaspora and alumni of the Samony Youth Academy.
4. Youth Mentorship & Industry Exposure
SOHF’s mentorship network has grown, with professionals from:
UN SDG ecosystem (Geneva)
Social enterprise leaders
Digital creatives and founders in the agricultural sector
Participants benefit from direct mentorship, career mapping, and introductions to internship opportunities with partner organizations.
Funding Allocation and Support
We gratefully acknowledge the exceptional grant of $1,000 received from GlobalGiving, of which $200 (20%) was allocated to subsidize the EBU Youth Scholarship Program under the Samony Youth Academy. This funding support enabled us to reduce the cost of participation for underprivileged youth, ensuring inclusive access to our monthly masterclasses and entrepreneurial bootcamps. We deeply appreciate GlobalGiving’s invaluable support in advancing youth development and fostering inclusive learning opportunities.
Challenges
Funding Gaps: Limited resources continue to affect program scale, recruitment, and infrastructure (especially in remote regions).
Internet Access & Digital Literacy: While the AI partnership helps, inconsistent digital access still marginalizes some communities.
Mental Fatigue: Prolonged joblessness continues to affect youth morale; our program now incorporates mental wellness checks and group support.
Opportunities and Strategic Outlook
Scaling Isidore CompetitivAI across more regions in Nigeria as a digital employment companion.
Launching the Samony Youth Academy Mobile Hub to bring blended learning and micro-training into rural areas.
Pursuing funding from regional development banks, diaspora grants, and corporate CSR programs (proposals underway).
Connecting trained youths with MSME clusters and enterprise cooperatives for real-world experience and collective impact.
Conclusion
In a nation where millions of youth remain excluded from meaningful employment, SOHF continues to lead with resilience, innovation, and purpose. The addition of Isidore CompetitivAI to our ecosystem represents a new frontier in digital empowerment, skill access, and intelligent career guidance.
As we seek further support and collaboration, we remain unwavering in our vision to redefine the future of work for young Nigerians — from passive job seekers to active creators and solution-builders.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation
