A large proportion of the 3000 Namibian poor and unemployed people that MSR serves do not have computer literacy, access to computers, nor internet service. As a result they are denied an opportunity to gain employment since most job postings and the job application process are now predominantly done on-line. This campaign will allow MSR to expand it's free computer, internet use and digital training services by adding 36 computers, additional computer lab space, and 3 IT specialists.
The Namibian employment arena has become digital. Job postings, job applications, CV submittals and interviews are now conducted "on-line". In 2024 Namibia's unemployment rate is estimated to be 43% or approximately 1,200,000 people. A vast segment of Namibian's unemployed are poor and uneducated and consequently do not have the computer literacy nor the ability to own a computer and pay for internet services. This MSR project will provide free digital learning and use to its 3000 members.
MSR will provide for free digital literacy training and use of computers and internet to its 3000 poor unemployed members giving them the ability to look for, apply and find jobs they otherwise would not have the ability to do.
This MSR project will help many of our members to get employed so they can rise out of poverty, which will allow them and any of their family members to become physically and emotionally healthy and to forestall any inclination to criminal activity.
