MSR's original project goal of $90,000 was raised to buy 36 computers, free internet service, and hire 3 IT specialists in MSR's 3 offices to provide computer literacy and use to MSR's unemployed members for the purposes of finding employment or self-sufficient income for 2025-2026. The program has proven very successful in job placement. MSR wishes to raise the goal by $75,000 to $165,000 so the program can be extended until 2027-2028.
The Namibian employment arena has become digital. Job postings, job applications, CV submittals and interviews are now conducted "on-line". Namibia's broader unemployment rate is estimated to be 54% one of the highest in the world. A vast segment of Namibian's unemployed are poor and uneducated and consequently do not have the computer literacy nor the ability to own a computer and pay for internet services. This MSR project will provide free digital learning and use to its 3000 members.
MSR will provide for free digital literacy training and use of computers and internet to its 3000 poor unemployed members giving them the ability to look for, apply and find jobs they otherwise would not have the ability to do. If the $165,000 project goal is achieved these services can be provided to the unemployed through 2028.
This MSR project will help many of our members to get employed or create their own self sufficient businesses so they can rise out of poverty, which will allow them and any of their family members to become physically and emotionally healthy and to forestall any inclination to criminal activity.
