Update, thank you!

By Karyn Mikkelsen-Tillet | Director Global Partnerships & Communication

Dear friends of Passerelles Numeriques (PN) Vietnam,

Thank you for your past support of PN Vietnam!

PN’s mission is to enable underprivileged youth to access technical training in the digital sector. The organization works to build their employability, helping them and their families escape poverty sustainably while contributing to the development of their communities and country.

The program targets vulnerable young people who have completed high school. In Vietnam, 62% of the population lives in rural areas, where access to higher education and quality training remains limited. Despite progress in reducing poverty, 9% of Vietnamese people still live below the national poverty line, and 20% are at risk of falling back into it. The higher education enrollment rate is 29%, with significant regional and financial disparities. In remote areas, education quality remains uneven, many young people drop out of school, and digital access is still limited despite 75% Internet penetration.

The IT sector is growing rapidly, but the demand for digital skills exceeds the supply, particularly outside major cities. Gender inequalities also persist, with women representing less than 35% of STEM graduates. The project aims to reduce these inequalities by providing inclusive and job-oriented digital training to vulnerable youth.

Since 2010, PN Vietnam has transformed the lives of more than 2,000 people (students and their families).

  • 535 graduates
  • $350 USD is the average entry-level monthly salary of PNV graduates, compared to the $59 USD earned on average
  • and per capita by their family, before PNV.
  • 97% of graduates for a quality job
  • 54% of our current students are young women

Thank you and we hope you consider continuing your support - every donation matters!
