We began providing clothing to the community for rape victims being seen in the emergency room, in March that shifted as the hospital was in desperate need for clothing for COVID-19 patients and essential workers. We have and continue providing new clothing and shoes for COVID, homeless, sexual assault, and domestic violence patients who come to the hospital and cannot leave with the clothes they came in with. We need to hire a coordinator, can you lend us a helping hand?
When patients come into the emergency room who have been raped, the clothing needs to be used as evidence and they leave in paper gowns. Since March, we now provide new clothing to rape victims but also to others like COVID patients and those who are homeless, in accidents, who are trafficked etc new clothing, bras and shoes to restore dignity in their darkest hours.
We have partnered with Walmart who provide new clothing coming off their racks, we then wash, sort, count and distribute to the hospital and community to folks that need new clothing.
It's amazing how a bra can give you a lift. It will melt your heart to see kids get a new pair of shoes. a homeless man walking out in $50 of new clothing feeling on top of the world. A rape victim in her darkest hour leaving with clean clothing when having to face her family after her ordeal. A COVID patient leaves in clean clothes after fighting for their lives. Restoring the dignity and lifting folks up just might prevent depression and other health issues if they were stay in dirty ones
