The project proposes the installation of a drinking water plant and a deep well to provide this essential element for the life and health of the community of Turgua in Venezuela. The goal is to meet the basic needs of access to drinking and healthy water for consumption by families and especially children, who are part of this student community.
The community of Turgua is one of many populations of Venezuela with deficient public services, no water system, unstable electrical system, the houses are mostly bahareque, with dirt floors and zinc roofs. The community does not have access to clean water and much less drinking water, this problem has affected the population in many aspects, including poor health, diseases, low school performance, lack of hygiene in homes and even death.
IFC proposes a self-sustaining project to supply a population of 5000 people with clean water and additionally drinking water for daily consumption. The community will be trained with relevant hygiene habits in personal care and food preparation.
The Project will generate a radical change in the health of the inhabitants, in the health and cognitive abilities of the children, in the daily tasks of the women. On the other hand, the project has been designed to generate funds for the school institution in the area.
