The disabled community of Mahadewa Municipality has won a major victory after months of hard work and a united protest in front of the local government office. Despite facing nine months of severe delays and excuses, their collective pressure forced the authorities to fix the system. As a result, qualified disabled individuals are finally receiving their vital social security allowances on time again, helping them pay for basic needs like food, medicine, and carers.
However, the fight is far from over because many eligible government supports are still missing. The community plans to continue protesting and campaigning until they receive all the resources they qualify for under the law. The ultimate goal remains to break down social barriers, secure full government entitlements, and ensure that people with disabilities can live equal, dignified lives in the community just like everyone else.
