Dear benefactor, we send you cordial greetings from Cochabamba, Bolivia.
We hope this new year has started in the best way for you and your loved ones. In this opportunity, we would like to share with you, from Tukuy Pacha, one of the little big actions made thanks to the generosity of people like you.
Last October we delivered an adapted wheelchair to Nicol, a 6 year old girl who lives in a peripheral area of the city. Nicol has had a multiple disability since birth and is lovingly cared for by her mother, brother and sister, who transport her and assist her in all activities. When we met her, she used to spend many hours lying in a baby carriage at the small stall where her mother works. Limited financial resources did not allow the family to provide Nicol with adequate seating and access to therapy sessions. For this reason, one of Tukuy Pacha's community promoters and a psychologist have made weekly visits to Nicol, providing mobilization and sensory stimulation activities for his family members. A neurologist doctor of a a partner organization evaluated Nicol. A wheelchair has been acquired and modified taking into account the child's characteristics, so that she can use it for a long time.
Sitting in the wheelchair, Nicol now has a better posture and can do more activities with her hands, manipulating the objects and toys that attract her attention. Your support is important to sustain and deepen our work of accompanying many families and girls like her.
