Health & Edu Supports for Tribal Children in India

Project Summary

Tribal children in remote areas of Tamil Nadu face significant barriers to accessing basic healthcare and quality education. Poverty, malnutrition, and limited infrastructure prevent them from reaching their full potential. This project aims to provide integrated health and education support to ensure that tribal children grow, learn, and thrive in a safe and supportive environment.

The Challenge

Tribal communities often live in geographically isolated regions with minimal access to essential services.

Key challenges include:

• High rates of malnutrition and anemia among children
• Limited access to primary healthcare and immunization
• Poor school attendance and high dropout rates
• Lack of learning resources and first-generation learners
• Inadequate awareness of hygiene and child health

Without targeted support, these children remain trapped in cycles of poverty and poor health.

Our Solution

VOICE Trust proposes a holistic intervention combining healthcare and education support:

1. Health Interventions

• Regular health check-ups and medical camps
• Nutrition support and growth monitoring
• Distribution of hygiene kits and health awareness sessions

2. Education Support

• After-school learning centers and remedial education
• Distribution of school kits (books, uniforms, stationery)
• Digital and activity-based learning methods

3. Child Development & Protection

• Awareness programs for parents on child rights and education
• Support for school enrollment and retention
• Psychosocial support for children
