Disability therapies for 1,300 children in Moldova

Thank you for playing such an important role in supporting the care and treatment for disabled children in Moldova. Without your help none of this could be possible.

We wanted to share with you an exciting development that is being centred around the Tony Hawks Childrens Rehabilitation Centre.

The qualified therapists that you support provide a full holistic service centred around the needs of the child. These include physio, speech, play, sensory and hydro therapy. The therapists have identified one key gap, that of occupational therapy.

But, paediatric occupational therapy is not a practised discipline taught or operated in Moldova.

Thanks to support from Rotary International the therapists you faithfully support will soon be embarking on 2 year modular based training in the key disciplines of occupational therapy. We will be guided and supported in this by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists. In time we will look for this to be incorporated as a certified discipline within the medical university.

But, of course, during this time it is essential that we keep on providing the life changing therapies and to do this we need to keep on supporting the therapists. And, to do this we need your continued support.
