In Eastern Europe the stigma of disability is still present. There are many cases where parents abandon their disabled child. There are also parents who want to help their child but don’t have the money to pay for the required therapies.
Like in the case of David. David is a sociable and smiling boy. He loves to draw and likes music. He is diagnosed with PCI, spastic tetraparesis, microcephaly and severe psychomotor developmental delay.
David’s physical condition involves a lot of care, medication, and rehabilitation procedures that will improve his health.
Thanks to your kind donations Tony Hawks Center offers to David free rehabilitation courses consisting of massage, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, music therapy. He started rehabilitation courses in September 2018.
By supporting this project 12,000 bespoke therapy sessions will be provided to disabled children at The Tony Hawks Centre. This is the foremost pediatric healthcare centre in Moldova, giving free therapy, education and social care to over 600 children from vulnerable families.
