Dear Supporter,
Your unwavering support continues to be the beacon of hope for parents who bring their children to the Tony Hawks Centre with the aspiration that their little ones can realize their full potential. While complete transformations may not always be possible, our dedicated therapists strive to empower as many children as possible, just like little Daria.
Daria, a resilient 2-year-old diagnosed with unspecified encephalopathy, has been attending the Tony Hawks Centre for nearly a year. Facing challenges such as difficulty biting and chewing food and partial vision impairment, Daria has made remarkable progress. Following her recent rehabilitation treatment, she has developed the ability to capture and follow objects, showing a keen interest in flowers and achieving the milestone of sitting down independently.
Your support makes stories like Daria's possible, ensuring that children with disabilities receive the specialized care and treatment they deserve.
It is important to foster inclusivity and independence for children with special needs. At Tony Hawks Centre, Moldova , the occupational therapy specialists play a pivotal role in enabling these children to engage in various activities tailored to their physical and mental conditions. These activities encompass a range of daily tasks, including purchasing goods and services, household chores, and caring for household items. In an exciting development, the occupational therapy sessions have expanded to include outdoor activities, such as plant care and animal welfare. A magnolia has been planted, and two bird feeders have been installed at the Tony Hawks Centre.
Through these activities, children and young people with special needs actively participate in caring for the decorative tree and feeding birds. These initiatives not only provide therapeutic benefits but also contribute to the holistic development and well-being of the individuals involved.
Your ongoing support fuels these transformative endeavours, allowing us to create meaningful experiences for children with special needs. Together, let's continue making a positive impact on their lives and fostering a nurturing environment at the Tony Hawks Centre.
With gratitude
