1000 Cranes Relief Fund is supporting disaster hit areas with a focus on supporting projects working on long term recovery efforts in New Orleans, Japan, Philippines and Haiti.
The disaster hit areas of Haiti, Philippines, New Orleans and Japan are still struggling to cope with the aftermath of natural disasters. Communities, villages and livelihoods have been destroyed. Many struggle with loss of family and friends. When the big aid agencies leave the area, local projects carry on and lead the recovery effort and re-generation. This relief fund will support 4 projects from within each affected area supporting the ongoing recovery effort.
It is difficult to attract funding to continue with the recovery effort especially in the long years following the aftermath. A small amount of money will go a long way in affected communities.
The money raised for these projects will provide a much needed boost to communities and towns still affected by tragedy and feeling forgotten by the rest of the world. As new crises hit and the media coverage ceases the plight of the people within these forgotten communities continues.
