Project Title: Life-Saving Assistance for Displaced Civilians

Total Beneficiaries Reached: 9,895 individuals
Key Impacts Achieved
Provided over 9,000 hot meals through emergency community kitchens to displaced civilians from Zamzam Camp—supporting children, elders, injured civilians, and families with dignity and nourishment.
Rescued 50 individuals who walked over 10 days through forests to escape RSF sieges. DWN funded their transport to reach safety in Chad.
Offered support to trauma survivors, including displaced DWN-trained soap-makers and volunteers who fled violence in South Darfur.
Provided essential food and care to injured civilians, including those harmed in drone strikes while gathering food or farming.
Maintained safe cooking operations during brief pauses in drone or ground attacks, offering meals when survival was most at risk.
Context & Crisis
In April 2025, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) launched a brutal and systematic assault on Zamzam Camp, killing over 1,200 civilians, including 9 medical workers, two DWN volunteers, and a dedicated local doctor, Dr. Hanadi. The entire camp was burned to the ground.

In the absence of large humanitarian organizations, Darfur Women Network stepped forward to serve where others could not.
Despite the collapse of the financial system, DWN continued operations using Bankak, Sudan’s only functioning digital payment system, allowing us to deliver aid directly, swiftly, and safely under siege conditions.
