The Mission of Project: PeaceMakers, Incorporated (PPMI) is to interact with all aspects of the underserved community in an endeavor to enhance the quality of life by addressing Domestic Family/Intimate Partner Violence (DF/IPV). Through education, intervention, empowerment and prevention, we are able to teach and apply a healthy, positive life-changing approach in helping break the cycle of violence in our homes and our communities.
Family and domestic violence is a common problem in the United States. Family and domestic health violence are estimated to affect 10 million people in the United States every year. It is a national public health problem. One in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will experience physical violence by their intimate partner at some point during their lifetimes with intimate partner violence occurring in over 10 million people.
Our goal is to continue to make progress and an impact on breaking the cycle of domestic abuse in all relationships of society no matter age, gender, sex, or ethnicity. In order to have an impact, we provide support services in English and Spanish through case management; individual counseling; group counseling; domestic violence, parenting and anger management classes, as well as, housing assistance, crisis intervention, and safety planning.
Through education, intervention, empowerment and prevention, we are able to teach and apply a healthy, positive life-changing approach in helping break the cycle of violence in our homes and our communities.
