Help 500 women in Kano escape domestic violence and build financial independence. We break the cycle of abuse by combining emergency medical and legal aid with vocational training. Survivors receive dignity kits, trauma counseling, and skills training (like tailoring or catering) to earn an income. When a woman can pay her own rent and feed her children, she gains the power to leave an abuser for good.
Over 40% of women in Kano face intimate partner violence, yet most remain trapped by financial dependence. Cultural stigma silences victims, while a lack of resources leaves them with nowhere to run. Without income, mothers are forced to choose between abuse and starvation for their children. Legal systems are complex and costly, and existing support centers are overwhelmed. These women need immediate safety and a long-term exit strategy.
We provide a holistic "Exit Strategy" through justice, healing, and economic power. We will offer 500 survivors free legal representation and trauma counseling to restore their dignity. Crucially, we train these women in marketable trades and provide startup business kits. By securing their financial autonomy, we remove the primary barrier to leaving abusive homes. We don't just treat the wounds; we give them the tools to walk away for
Financial independence is the only permanent cure for domestic abuse. This project creates 500 self-sufficient female entrepreneurs who can safely support their families. As these women succeed, they become powerful community advocates, reducing the stigma of reporting violence. We are building a generation of children raised in violence-free homes, permanently breaking the intergenerational cycle of trauma in Northern Nigeria.
