Recent visits to the projects we support have shown remarkable progress. Each year these projects grow stronger. As graduates or alumni go on to achieve some independence and give back to their communities, their self-respect and confidence increases.
Each project told us about the impact the USAID funding cuts are having on refugee communities. The effects are far-reaching, from health services to water supply to rubbish collection. Thanks to REI's approach in providing opportunities the projects we support can continue as planned. The skills beneficiaries have gained—such as leadership, psychosocial support, and health training—are now being used to assist communities affected by reduced aid. This demonstrates the strength of our approach where learning can be shared and create a ripple effect.
Through international connections and your support, we are reaching more people and spreading the message that empowering communities to manage their own programs fosters greater independence and a more sustainable future.
Over the past year, REI funding has directly impacted approximately 1,300 people and indirectly reached over 5,000 through initiatives in maternal and baby health, leadership development, job creation, addiction treatment, family support, and education, as well as psychosocial support for children.
With no affiliation to governments or political entities, we can remain agile in decision-making. Most importantly, we continue to listen to beneficiaries and learn from them.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
