Respected Donors,
Warm greetings from SERUDS
We sincerely thank you for your generous support through the GlobalGiving Organization to feed destitute elderly individuals who have been abandoned by their sons and daughters. Your contribution is invaluable in ensuring these neglected individuals receive the care and nourishment they deserve.
Since 2009, SERUDS has been organizing a midday meal program specifically for hapless elderly people who are in dire need of support. This initiative was born in the aftermath of the devastating floods in Kurnool, which displaced numerous families, leaving many elderly individuals neglected and homeless. Identifying this critical need, we established the SERUDS Midday Meals Center, where 30 to 35 destitute elderly persons receive a nutritious lunch every day.
The meals provided include steamed cooked rice, lentils (Taar Dhal), vegetable curry, sambhar, curd, and seasonal fruits. This balanced and wholesome diet has significantly improved the health and well-being of elderly individuals aged between 60 and 90 years. With proper nourishment, they have regained their strength, confidence, and a sense of dignity, which allows them to live with renewed hope for their remaining years.
In addition to the daily lunch program, SERUDS also supports these elderly individuals by providing seasonal essentials such as sarees and winter blankets. Many of them are homeless, living in community halls, graveyards, or even at the mercy of kind neighbors. To address their plight, we brought them together at one location and established a kitchen in 2009 to ensure they receive regular, nutritious meals in a safe and welcoming environment.
Your continued generous support is the cornerstone of this noble initiative. Without your kindness and compassion, it would be incredibly challenging for us to serve these neglected elderly individuals and provide them with the care they need.
We deeply appreciate your commitment to this cause and thank you for making a profound difference in the lives of the destitute elderly. Together, we are restoring their dignity and giving them a reason to smile again.
