Dear Respected Donors,

Warm greetings from SERUDS!

We extend our heartfelt thanks for your compassionate support through the GlobalGiving Foundation in helping us care for elderly individuals who have been sadly abandoned by their families. Your generosity ensures these vulnerable seniors receive the care, nourishment, and dignity they so deeply deserve.

Since 2009, SERUDS has been running a dedicated midday meal initiative for elderly individuals who are destitute, homeless, or neglected—many of whom were left to fend for themselves following the devastating Kurnool floods. This critical intervention led to the creation of the SERUDS Midday Meals Center, where 30 to 35 elderly persons are now served freshly prepared, nutritious lunches every day.

The meals typically include steamed rice, lentils (Taar Dhal), vegetable curry, sambhar, curd, and seasonal fruits—a well-balanced diet that has made a remarkable difference in their physical health and emotional well-being. These seniors, aged between 60 and 90, have shown visible improvements in strength and spirit, regaining a sense of dignity and stability in their lives.

In addition to daily nourishment, SERUDS also provides seasonal essentials such as sarees and warm blankets, particularly during the harsh winters. Many of these elderly individuals were living in graveyards, community shelters, or relying on the goodwill of neighbors before we brought them together under one roof. Since then, our centrally located kitchen has been offering not just meals—but warmth, care, and a sense of community.

Your continued kindness is the backbone of this meaningful work. Without your support, we could not reach out to these forgotten elders and give them the respect and care they rightfully deserve.

Thank you once again for being a beacon of hope in their lives. Your support is not just filling empty stomachs—it’s restoring humanity, one meal and one life at a time.

With sincere gratitude,
Team SERUDS
