Restoring Dignity and Hope for Abandoned Elderly by SERUDS Midday Meal Program

Respected Philanthropist,
Warm greetings from SERUDS.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous contributions made through GlobalGiving, a USA 501(c)(3) tax-deductible organization. Your support has been instrumental in sustaining our mission and bringing dignity, care, and comfort to abandoned senior citizens who have no one else to depend on.

Fifteen years ago, following the devastating floods in Kurnool, SERUDS initiated the Meal Sponsorship Program to serve elderly individuals who were left behind during the relocation of families to safer regions. Many of these seniors, aged between 60 and 90 years, continue to live in fragile thatched huts, battling health issues and extreme loneliness. Unable to work due to their age and declining health, they struggle daily to meet even the most basic needs.

In response to this crisis, SERUDS established an Old Age Care and Midday Meal Program to ensure that these vulnerable elderly individuals receive nutritious meals, compassion, and consistent support. Today, thanks to your kindness, we are serving 25 destitute senior citizens living in the urban slums of Budhavarapeta, near the graveyard area in Kurnool.

Every afternoon, our team provides them with a wholesome and hygienically prepared meal that includes:
steam-cooked rice, leafy vegetable dal, traditional sambar, buttermilk, seasonal pickle, and fresh fruit. These meals not only nourish their bodies but also bring them emotional comfort and a sense of belonging. Over time, many of them have shown noticeable improvements in their health and overall well-being.

The elderly eagerly look forward to celebrations such as Vinayaka Chavithi, where SERUDS presents them with new clothes and creates an atmosphere of warmth, care, and togetherness. These moments of happiness are possible only because of compassionate donors like you.

Your continued support allows us to ensure that these seniors live with dignity, self-respect, and emotional comfort during the most vulnerable stage of their lives. Without your help, providing daily care and nutritious meals would not be possible.

Thank you for your generosity and for helping us bring hope and dignity to abandoned elderly persons.
