Respected Donor,
Warm greetings and best wishes from SERUDS Charity.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our esteemed donors for your compassionate support toward our charitable initiatives for the most vulnerable elderly population. Your generosity continues to be a lifeline for senior citizens who struggle daily with hunger, poverty, and neglect.
As part of our Zero Hunger commitment, SERUDS launched the Noon Meal Program for Elderly People in 2009. Since its inception, the program has consistently provided nutritious daily lunches to senior citizens from low-income and homeless backgrounds. With your timely and kind contributions, we have been able to sustain this vital service without interruption.
To ensure hygiene and quality nutrition, SERUDS established an elderly care facility equipped with a clean and well-maintained kitchen, where wholesome meals are freshly prepared every day. These meals are distributed to elderly beneficiaries living in extreme poverty.
Many of the elderly we support are aged between 60 and 90 years, living in thatched huts or on the streets, and are unable to work due to age-related health issues. With no steady income or family support, hunger remains their greatest daily challenge.
Currently, as part of our ongoing outreach, we are providing daily noon meals to elderly people residing in the urban slum area of Budhavarapeta, near the graveyard in Kurnool. Each nutritious meal includes:
Steam-cooked rice
Leafy vegetable dhal
Traditional, tasty sambar
Buttermilk
Seasonal pickle
Fresh fruits
In addition to food support, SERUDS also assists elderly beneficiaries during the winter season. Every December, we distribute wool blankets to protect them from the harsh cold. A detailed update on this winter support initiative will be shared in our upcoming report.
Your generous donation through GlobalGiving, a USA 501(c)(3) tax-deductible organization, has played a crucial role in feeding the underprivileged elderly with dignity and care. Because of you, hundreds of senior citizens are able to sleep with a full stomach and renewed hope.
On behalf of the elderly beneficiaries and the entire SERUDS team, we thank you for standing with us in our mission to end hunger among the aged.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Team SERUDS
