Since its opening in June 2013, the Agwata clinic has been a very valued and important part of the Agwata community of five villages in northern Uganda. Funding provided through this GlobalGiving project helps make sure the clinic has needed medicines as well as help with staffing the clinic.
And when our volunteer team traveled to Agwata this past March, it was very exciting to see the busy activity at the clinic and to be there when a new baby was delivered! Our volunteer, Melanie, felt very honored when the mother informed her that she was naming her new baby after Melanie!
With the clinic serving over 5000 people in the nearby villages, many babies are born here each year saving mothers a 17 kilometer walk to the next closest medical facility in this remote area of Uganda.
Mothers are very grateful that this clinic is nearby thanks to your support! Thanks so much for your generosity which is touching the lives of so many people including baby Melanie!
